Food Grade Plastic Cup

Food grade plastic is best defined as food safe plastic. The term refers to any plastic suitable for contact with consumable food or drink products. Food grade plastic cup can protect foods from damage, provides food safety and extends the freshness of foods.As some acidic foods or liquids can leach chemicals from their containers, it is important that they are stored in appropriate containers.

In COPAK,all the food grade plastic cups are made from PET and PLA. In plastic field,PET is marked with code by Code 1.You don’t have to be a plastics expert to determine whether a material is food grade. The code consists of a triangle of arrows surrounding a number between 1 and 7. Generally, numbers 1 through 7 indicate food grade plastic.

What is it? Polyethylene terephthalate (PETE or PET) is a lightweight plastic that is made to be semi-rigid or rigid which makes it more impact resistant, and helps protect food or liquids inside the packaging.

How is it used? Food grade plastic cups is commonly used in food packaging for soft drinks, sport drinks, single-serve water, ketchup, salad dressing, vitamins, vegetable oil bottles and peanut butter containers.
